Drama & creative expression:  Spark Confidence, Communicate Boldly, Create Freely

Drama & Creative Expression is a monthly enrichment program for children ages 5–7 that blends age-appropriate theatre activities, storytelling, and hands-on art projects to develop communication skills, emotional awareness, and creative problem-solving. Sessions are playful, structured, and nurturing—designed to help young children find their voices, build positive character traits, and discover personal expression through both dramatic play and visual art.

Format & schedule

• Once a month, 2 hour sessions.
• Small groups to ensure individual attention and a safe, supportive environment.
• Guided by experienced facilitators with training in early childhood theatre, art education, and positive behaviour support.

What each session looks like

• Warm-up & social circle: Gentle movement, voice games, and activities that centre attention and build group rapport.
• Story & dramatic play: Short stories and guided improvisations introduce themes (kindness, honesty, courage, cooperation) that children explore through role-play and character work.
• Creative art-making: Hands-on projects linked to the drama theme—masks, puppets, costumes, scene backdrops, character journals—encouraging individual interpretation and fine motor skills.
• Communication skill practice: Simple exercises to practise projection, clear speech, listening, turn-taking, and expressing feelings safely.
• Reflection & sharing: End-of-session sharing that builds confidence and reinforces positive behaviour, with take-home prompts or small crafts.
